The photo below is a few years old, so the connecting overhead passage no longer exists, as the building it connected with was torn down.
Welcome/Willkommen!
Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Rochester's Chase Tower [Sky Watch Friday]
In last week’s posting, I referred to the Chase Tower and its reflections in the factory windows. Below are some of my ‘up close and personal’ views of this wonderful building and its sweeping lines. One can understand why it is so popular among photographers. Interestingly, one is really not permitted to take photograph of the building when one is on the ‘private property; indeed, I have been chased away by security personnel on a number of occasions. Either you just have to get lucky that they are not around, or take your shots from public property.
The photo below is a few years old, so the connecting overhead passage no longer exists, as the building it connected with was torn down.

"Sweeping lines" is so right, and I can see why you would want to get closer. Lovely pics from each view. Greetings from Jean
I like the curves.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
I love the vantage point and perspectives you capture with your lens.
Great shots... really like the perspective and composition. So bizarre they don't want people photographing this incredible building!!?
Wow! Thats a skyscraper!
You sure know how to grab dramatic shots. Great compositions and so crisp.
My hubby is in a photo class (an ongoing on, everyone keeping up to date) - it seems that a photographer can take a pic (by law) what is in plain sight. Is an office building "private" property?
Thanks all for your kind comments!
Jesh -- I don't know if my response on your site reached you [or if this will]; but, office buildings and the land they are on can be private property.
Happy Holidays to all!
What a stunning building, love those curves!! Wonderfully captured too!
Have a nice day Stan :)
what a fascinating curve in this architecture... fabulous photos!
I'm not much of one for modern architecture, but I agree that this building has some really graceful lines and is very photogenic! It's kind of a shame that covered walkway is gone - I love those, and this one does add a grace note to the Chase Tower.
Pretty paranoid of the owners to be chasing off photographers of their photogenic building! (Of course, if the "Chase" in "Chase Tower" is associated with Chase Bank, maybe their paranoia is understandable given public sentiment toward big banks in the aftermath of the 2008 debacle and subsequent bailout!) I'm glad you braved the wrath of the ahh-thor-a-tays to get these photos. :-)
