Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Halberstadt Skies (ii) [Sky Watch Friday]

Below is a shot of the Liebfrauenkirche towers, whose construction began in the late 10th century. It is interesting to note that two towers are octagonal [foreground], while the other two are square [background]. That is seen more clearly in the second shot, which was actually taken of a poster hanging in the church.

The [Romanesque] church is in classical basilica style.

A short walk from the Domplatz is the Rathaus Roland, with the St. Martinikirche in the background. The figure in front of the Rathaus is similar to that of the Roland in Bremen.

Finally, on a lighter note, this sleep walking figure was located atop a shed outside our hotel. Next week I will begin posting images from our visit in Quedlinburg.
