Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

What the...? [Sky Watch Friday]

Sometimes, unexpectedly neat things arise when you play around in Photoshop Elements. After my friend Lori clued me in on the Posterize function, I gave it a try. I liked what I saw and decided it was worth sharing. Hope you agree and will try it on some of your own images.

Freddie-Sue Bridge [Sky Watch Friday]

The Frederick Douglas-Susan B. Anthony Bridge over Rochester's Genesee River is a recent addition to our fair city's attractive sights. Affectionately dubbed the Freddie-Sue Bridge, it has become one of the most highly photographed structures in town, by day or night [stay tuned for my night shot next week]. I apologize for not 'photoshopping' out the log/branch in the foreground; it will get done eventually.

Salt Lake City Sky III [Sky Watch Friday]

This is the last of my 'big sky' pics from Salt Lake City -- it's hard to believe that 30+ years have already flown by--sigh-- The original photos were on 2x2 Kodachrome slides, which I scanned last year or so  when I fully commited to the digital world. Although SLC had some magnificent sunsets, my current hometown of Rochester, NY can hold its own -- below is a preview--

Salt Lake City Sky II [Sky Watch Friday]

This was a wonderfully fiery sunset over the Salt Lake Valley, again viewed from our balcony. Ya gotta love Mother Nature!!

View from Erice (Sicily) [Sky Watch Friday]

This shot was taken in the vicinity of Erice, Sicily. It was cold and windy and the ominous clouds were moving very rapidly across the sky. My patience was rewarded as the view in the distance suddenly opened and -- CLICK, I got it. While the dark sky is anything but pretty, it makes for quite an atmosphere.
