These images complete my ‘Aruba cycle’. Actually, I posted the bottom shot just about a year ago, but I decided to repeat it since it complements the new image. In both the funky coloration was generated in Photoshop Elements using the 'posterization' technique [I imagine there is a comparable procedure available in Photoshop.] To start, I clicked on FILTER in the overhead options bar, then clicked on ADJUSTMENTS in the drop down, and then selected POSTERIZE. A choice of LEVELS appears in a box; the number determines the degree of ‘funkiness’ you want to see [I used 4]. Basically, that is the whole process. What is appealing is that one can sometime transform a rather ordinary image into a strikingly abstract one.
Welcome/Willkommen!
Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Nicely processed! I like the colors and the abstract nature.
Great work!

Love them! Remember how you compared Debbie Wagner's sunrise paintings in my SkyWatch post last week to Van Gogh's? Well, Photoshopped photos of yours remind me of Andy Warhol's paintings!
Thanks for your comment on my post from this week, about the storm cloud looking like an A-bomb mushroom cloud. In my reply, I left you a couple of links to old posts with cloud photos I think you'll really be amazed at! I took them from our previous house that was on the side of a mountain (at 5500' elevation). Now I can see that old house from the upstairs of our new one (out the same window that I shot that "mushroom" cloud from! And so is the circle of life. :-)
Anyway, the effects you gave these photos are great - and Aruba looks awfully tantalizing!
The photos turned out beautifully :) That looks like a lovely beach, and the palms are very nice.
Thanks for your visit and comment.
Hilde :)
Very artistic!
