Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

'Freddie-Sue' Bridge Panorama [Sky Watch Friday]

On the night of the ‘super moon’, I was with a group of ca. 30 photographers in downtown Rochester. More precisely, we  were in the Corn Hill area along the Genesee River, a great spot for all kinds of shooting. As it turned out, there was more to be engaged with than the moon. Today’s post and those in coming weeks will present some of both. This panorama of the sky line and ‘Freddie-Sue’ Bridge [properly known as the Frederick Douglas-Susan B. Anthony Bridge] was ‘merged’ in Photoshop Elements v.8. from at least five images. Though I must confess that it should be cropped in from the right. However, since I submitted this to our local newspaper for publication [see my posting of July 11 below for an example], and they require a 5:1 aspect ratio, while not optimized for composition the image is still kinda cool.

Love the bridge design allowing "extracts" of sky and city views.
