Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Circles 9 [Orange You Glad It’s Friday]

Today’s circles are exclusively within 3-D objects, which I have alluded to in earlier posts. The first image is somewhat ‘over the top', having both multiple circles and a sphere.

This is a detail of a sculpture that stands in front of Rochester’s Science Museum. If you look carefully, you can see the photographer’s reflection.

The next image was shot inside The Village Gate, a mall located inside an old factory building. Can you count the number of circles in this overhead lamp?

The last two images were also from The Village Gate.

Circles 8 [Orange You Glad It’s Friday]

Today’s images did not quite fit into previous Circle posting themes, for example, this group of umbrellas [shot with my cell phone]. They were suspended from the ceiling in a local public library.

The next three images were taken during various walks in the city of Rochester, NY. From the top down, a portion of a sign over an entrance into a store, a wall exhaust from a restaurant kitchen, and a moonshot through the 'Freddie-Sue' Bridge.

This bicycle wheel actually belongs in an earlier posting. I happened to stumble upon it while searching my archive for something else, but I decided to share it anyway.

This last shot was taken in a passage in Nürnberg.

Circles 7 [Orange You Glad It’s Friday]

Circles may be found in/on all matter of conveyances, some of which may also provide some orange color. The bicycle below was shot in Braunschweig, Germany [which happens to be my wife’s home town].

The next image merely depicts a conveyance, and I could not resist getting a shot of it [taken at our Public Market in Rochester, NY].

From a children’s toy to an adult toy, we move to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle [not necessarily the inevitable real-life progression].

More than likely, one will graduate to a 4-wheel vehicle. The one below, shot along Kurfuerstendamm in Berlin, is not the conventional step up in autos.

Lastly, we have a conveyance that does not actually go anywhere and consists of only one circle; viz. the London Eye, a gigantic ferris wheel situated along the Thames River.  It has become quite the tourist attraction and is almost as recognizable as Big Ben.

Circles 6 [Orange You Glad It’s Friday]

Circles or circle-like shapes are often found in the food. Oranges are the obvious candidate for an OYGIF posting, and so it was not beneath my dignity to take advantage of their presence at the farmer's market.

While at the market, these lovely tomatoes also called out to me.

You may doubt my judgment, but even these grilling hamburgers took on a circular shape....

This giant bouillabaisse was shot in London’s Portabello Road Market. Looking at this now, I regret not having sampled that delicious looking brew.
