Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Ireland Panoramas [Sky Watch Friday]

We had a wonderful vacation in Ireland traveling with CIE Tours. Part of the pleasure of such a visit is the interaction with fellow tour members. However, the beauty and history of Ireland suffice to entertain and interest everyone. The top panorama of the Dublin skyline was shot from the 7th floor of the Guinness Brewery; it is a merge of 7 separate images. The white hemispherical objects in the right-center foreground cover huge beer storage containers [140,000 liters each]. The middle and bottom panoramas were shot at Kenmare Bay [along the Ring of Kerry]. The bottom one was made by merging images shot in vertical format [one usually sees panos made by merging horizontal format images, as in the two upper images]. In subsequent weeks, I will add some other shots taken on the trip.

Your blog is full of interesting places and fabulous photography. I will now be following it. That top photo blew me away. The Friday Skywatch photo was interesting in that the coast line looks quite similar to parts of British Columbia (where I live).

Ireland looks beautiful. I glanced at your other sky shot, and you've been to the south of France too. All places I've always wanted to go. Amazing!
