Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Rochester Wall Art 1

After several urban photo-shoots, the presence around Rochester of a substantial number of building wall murals has become a source of interest. For some, it is graffiti, for others an expression of hip art. I make no judgment except to say that, in general, I like it. So, today I will start a mini-series of images I've captured over the last months. There is not a whole lot of explanation to offer, so I hope that you will enjoy them.

I am a proponent of street art, that is any sort of art that does no harm and is available to all the people no matter their opinion of its source. Love it, hate it or not care at all murals and graffiti are a voice in the urban wilderness.
