Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

More Niagara Falls

This completes my current postings from our Niagara Falls sojourn.  The top image was shot from our hotel room using a zoom lens. I chose to omit the crest of the falls, so that this view would suggest water coming down from a great height.

This night shot was also taken from our hotel room. The American and Horseshoe Falls were illuminated with different color lights over time. I liked the reddish hue.

The Maid of the Mist is passing in front of the American Falls, which are generating huge plumes of mists. When you realize that the boat carries hundreds of passengers, it is striking how small it seems in comparison to the Falls.

Those photos are breath-taking, and The Maid of The Mist is huge, but so tiny there. The night shots are great, do they do this all year round? Cheers, Jean. p.s. so many thanks for your last email and photo, all went very OK.
