Welcome/Willkommen!

Hello and welcome. Hope you enjoy the images I have posted. Please do not reproduce them without my permission. Most are available as note/greeting cards or as prints/enlargements. Thank you for visiting my site and your comments.
Many have asked about the Header image above, which I named 'Eerie Genny'. It was originally shot with film [taken on the shore of the Genesee River near the Univ. of Rochester]. During the darkroom development, I flashed a light above the tray. The process, known as 'solarization', produces eerie, ghostlike effects; some have mistaken this image as an infra-red photo. Some 35+ years later, I scanned and digitized the print, and did a little modern day editing, and, voila.

Mt.Hope Cemetery [Orange You Glad It's Friday]

The Mt.Hope Cemetery is in a sprawling area of hills, trees and resting sites dating back to pre-Civil War era. Among the noted dignitaries buried there are Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony. The beauty and importance of the cemetery is such that guided tours are held there. Last weekend we visited the grave site of a good friend, and then took some shots of the surroundings. As with the Letchworth Park posts, the Fall colors still had not peaked, but they still provided pleasure.

I love cemeteries in all seasons, but Autumn is one of my favorite times to visit and/or photograph them. I find them to be serene and beautiful places, and Autumn just makes them even more so. Your friend has a beautiful spot in which to be visited and remembered.
